How to handle IRS tax notice after filing taxes?

After filing tax returns, you may receive a tax notice from the IRS. There is no need to panic, check out these quick guidelines  :

 

There are few types of tax notices :

  1. Informational: Almost all notices of this type, clearly state there is no further action necessary & it is informational. Its most likely an acknowledgment of recently paid taxes.

    • We need to verify your identity: Read the notice carefully and provide the identification requested. In most situations, you may be required to be present at the local IRS office.

These notices usually have few adjustments. If the changes are easy to understand, then you can go ahead and provide the information requested.
